Google is introducing a watchlist feature in search results, allowing users to keep track of movies and shows they wish to watch. This new feature expands on the TV and movie recommendations system that Google incorporated into search results last year.
“When choosing a TV show or movie, the myriad of options can be overwhelming. Determining what content is available across all your subscriptions can take time. You can already find TV and movie recommendations in Search, and today we’re adding a new Watchlist tab on mobile to help you manage what to watch next.”
Add Recommendations to the Watchlist
When you search for “what to watch,” it will provide a list of personalized recommendations. Previously, Google did not have a method for users to track recommended films and shows they were interested in. While people could manage this on their own, having the ability to do so directly within Google is more convenient. This option is now available.
Users can explore their personalized recommendations and click “Watchlist” to add a title to their list of content they aim to watch. This list is connected to a user’s Google account, allowing them to add more titles across any mobile device. Additionally, users can add titles to their watchlist when searching for a specific show or movie.
Users can access their watchlist by searching for “my watchlist” or tapping on the Collections tab in the Google app. This feature will be available in search results within the coming week.
